Job Description This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What you will be doing: This position is responsible for the overall coordination of the Fairbanks Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program, to include outreach and recruitment of volunteers; screening, training and retention activities; data collection and reporting; and grant management. This position reports to the State Director of Alaska CASA and works in conjunction with Guardians ad Litem and program staff around the state to see more children/youth served by CASA volunteers.
Our organization, mission, and culture: CASA Programs throughout Alaska recruit, train, and oversee volunteers who are tasked with becoming an expert on minors who are the subject of open child in need of aid (CINA) cases to ensure focused best interest advocacy for the children/youth involved in assigned cases. Our purpose is to make a positive difference in the life of children/youth who have experienced abuse and/or neglect.

The working environment you can expect: The position has limited workspace at the Fairbanks Office of Public Advocacy (OPA) civil office and will have limited hours available each week in a shared office with a staff Guardian ad Litem. Approximately 10 hours per week will be worked in the office and approximately 10 hours per week will be in the Fairbanks OPA civil office. Some travel for recruitment throughout the Interior may be required with the occasional trip to the Anchorage area for training and team building exercises.
