The Division of Finance is currently offering a hire incentive bonus of up to
$4,000.00 to newly hired Human Resource Technicians.
The incentive bonus will be paid in two equal installments, less mandatory deductions. Employees will be eligible for the first installment after successful completion of 90 days. Employees will be eligible for the second and final installment after the employee’s successful completion of probation. To receive an incentive, employees are expected to agree to a two-year term of employment with the Division of Finance

What you will be doing:

Under general direction, a Human Resource Technician 3 supervises Payroll Services staff; develops and delivers technical payroll training; and performs advanced technical work completing, processing, and auditing personnel and payroll documents.

We are located in the Robert B. Atwood Building in the heart of downtown Anchorage, within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. This is a fast-paced work environment with duties changing daily based on the needs of payroll staff and the payroll cycle.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of journey technical level human resource experience. This is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution:

One year of technical level dispatching experience as an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.

OR

Two years of postsecondary education (64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours equal 2 years) from an accredited college or university in any field.

OR

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and human resources experience at the journey technical level. This experience is equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.

OR

Two years in any combination of postsecondary education (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equal one month) from an accredited college or university and technical level dispatching experience. This experience is equivalent to an Alaska Marine Highway System Dispatcher with the State of Alaska.

Special Note:

"Human resource” work includes experience in recruitment and selection, classification, employee training, employer provided benefits programs, employment law compliance, personnel, payroll, or employee or labor relations. Supervision of subordinates does not in itself constitute human resource work.
