Where you will work:We are committed to employee wellness and offer hybrid telework scheduling to meet work life balance needs. Positions will be filled in Anchorage or Juneau, depending on the location of the selected candidate. Juneau-based Employee Relations staff work in the State Office Building, located in the heart of downtown Juneau. Anchorage-based Employee Relations staff work in the Atwood Building in the heart of downtown Anchorage. Both offer ample access to nearby amenities.Competencies we are looking for:- A background that provides a solid foundation for advising management, conducting investigations, and understanding/applying employment laws and contract terms

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Training in human resource management, business administration, or organizational leadership or experience supporting management in running an organization/enterprise or supporting professionals working in human resources (such as recruitment, payroll, classification and compensation, employee and labor-management relations, employer provided benefit programs, employment law compliance, or employee training).
“Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation.
“Training” and “education” in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction. It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.

**Special Notice: Salary Increase effective 7/1/24**
Positions in the Confidential Employees Association (CEA) will receive a contractually negotiated wage increase of 5% effective 7/1/24. This is not reflected in the starting salary advertised for this recruitment.
