The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Anchorage International Airport is looking for a Criminal Justice Technician 2 to help us Keep Alaska Moving!
What you will be doing:The Criminal Justice Technician 2 engages in evidence handling techniques, routine evidence processing, specialized data entry, supply and logistical support, and other administrative tasks for the Anchorage Airport Police & Fire Department. Operating and documentation procedures will also support compliance with accreditation requirements. Entering & updating evidence and procurement databases such as FileonQ, CAD/RMS, the Airport Information System (stock requests), and the Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS). Additionally, you will be partly responsible for supporting law enforcement & fire professionals in evidence handling training while maintaining records and assisting in the departments supply and procurement.
CJTs perform a variety of a paraprofessional work in support of commissioned & non-commissioned, certified, or other public safety professional staff, under general direction; and assists in administrative duties in support of maintaining a functioning evidence and procurement process.

The Working Environment you can expect:You will be working out of Station 1 of the ANC Police & Fire department offices alongside the police and fire command staff. This position will include clerical and administrative work necessitating independent thinking and drafting of reports, budgets, and informational memorandum. You will work with records and employees at other areas of the airport, including the passenger airport terminals and Station 2. All regularly scheduled work assignments are in Anchorage, with the potential for travel outside Anchorage for training needs. You can expect to work 8:00am to 4:00pm, with a 30-minute lunch break, Monday through Friday.

Candidates for this position must be eligible for an airport identification badge in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations (49 CFR 1542) (Download PDF reader) which requires fingerprinting and a criminal background check. The successful applicant must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history record check as well as a comprehensive background investigation, along with a Transportation Security Administration Security Threat Assessment.
