Stallion Infrastructure Services is Hiring an Accounting Summer Intern Near Houston, TX
Job Description Role Summary: Stallion Infrastructure Services is looking for a detail-oriented Summer Accounting Intern to join our team in the Greater Houston area for the summer of 2024. Stallion will provide valuable, real-world experience to students in between their sophomore and senior year of college pursuing a business degree with a focus in accounting. The internship will be in the office from 8:30am - 5pm with some flexibility, last 8 weeks with flexible start and end dates, and pays $15/hour. Job Responsibilities:
Assists and supports the accounting functions for a multi segment infrastructure services company
The opportunity to practice their accounting skills and gain additional knowledge and insight to the field of accounting, while gaining experience in one or more of the following areas of accounting, tax, audit, financial analysis, credit & collection, AP & AR and general accounting
Assists in preparing project reports, progress summaries, spreadsheets, general letters, and other written material
Maintains high degree of quality control and accuracy of the completed work
Participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization
Participates in planned training
Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings/workshops which provide for an increasing awareness of general knowledge of programs and current practices
Coordinates all paperwork according to procedures
Maintains confidentiality and ensures the protection of policies, practices, and requirements
Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Currently enrolled college student with a minimum of 9 hours of accounting courses completed
Accounting or Finance major
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Display a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Database experience
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to work collaboratively in both a team atmosphere and independently
Ability to interact with varying levels of individuals
Must be able to quickly learn and be proficient on a variety of web-based applications; including having proficiency with Microsoft Suite software (specifically Excel - pivot tables, charts, vlookups)
