St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County is Hiring an Executive Director Near South Bend, IN

The Executive Director is the key management leader of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Joseph County, Inc., (SVDP). The Executive Director oversees the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. We seek a visionary and strategic leader with a deep understanding of our community, a commitment to our Vincentian values, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders for the betterment of those we serve.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Board Governance:

  • Reports to and works closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, and fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.

Financial Performance and Viability

  • Oversees fundraising and developing other revenue streams, as necessary, to support SVDP’s mission.
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of SVDP, including submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
  • Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintains the organization in a positive financial position.

Organization Mission, Strategy, and Operations

  • Serves as SVDP’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with various organizations and utilizes those relationships to strategically enhance SVDP’s Mission.
  • Engages in strategic planning to ensure that SVDP can successfully fulfill its Mission in the future.
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with SVDP Conferences, Vincentians, and Volunteers.
  • Hires and retains talented, qualified staff.
  • Oversees all SVDP Programs and operations, ensuring the quality of both, and the efficacy of programs.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate would have a

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Master’s Degree (preferred) in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Social Work, or Public Affairs.
  • 5 years of experience in Non-Profit leadership, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with and respect for the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Proven ability in fundraising and high-level strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Ability to envision and convey the organization’s mission and values to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors through strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies, and volunteers.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting.
