Standards of Performance and Goals:

  • Builds Relationships with new business members and continually consults and supports existing business deposit, cash management and lending relationships. Interfaces primarily with the Business Development Team Lead, Branch Managers and retail staff, SMFS reps and commercial relationship managers to grow brand awareness and grow business/member relationships.
  • Works in/with community and business partners to establish solid relationships to generate cash management and deposit opportunities including supporting CU at Work Program; reviews and recommends improvements to cash management procedures, service and maintenance, pricing, and marketing plans for expanding new or existing member base and deposit product usage.
  • Works closely with internal and external Centers of Influence (COI) to include internal business partners, CPA's, lawyers, and commercial real estate brokers, to develop new business; has a well-defined marketing strategy that will lead to the achievement of business plan goals; represents SMB at community events and volunteer opportunities. Day and evening events will be required.
  • Refers into SMB business partners for needed services such as commercial and consumer lending, SMFS services, payroll, merchant services and credit cards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years or more of work experience in retail and/or business banking.
  • Successful experience in business development required.
  • Working knowledge of cash management services and deposit operations.
  • Ability to provide mentoring, coaching, and sales training support as needed to Branch Sales Staff and collaborate toward the attainment of team and individual goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective organizational and analytical skills, coupled with computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union market area and member base preferred.
  • Possess strong initiative & the ability to present a polished, professional image to the membership and community.
