Sqooasha is Hiring a HR/Payroll Specialist Near Phoenix, AZ

Sqooasha is looking for an HR/Payroll Specialist to join our growing team. Sqooasha has been providing educational services to students since 2017, including students with various disabilities. The students we work with range from kindergarten students up to college level students.

Position Summary:

The HR/Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day HR and Payroll operations of the company including the screening, interviewing/onboarding of new hires, and preparing bi-weekly payroll for all employees. The Specialist shall commit to implementing and maintaining Sqooasha's core values. The ideal candidate will be proactive, energetic, detail-oriented, and be able to anticipate the needs of upper-management and provide exceptional service in a timely manner. Qualified candidate will work independently and wear multiple hats.

Additionally, the HR/Payroll Specialist will assist in the selection of professional development courses for staff; and ensure all staff documents are current including fingerprint clearance cards, background checks, and professional development certifications. Specialist will perform E-Verification of new hires, maintain the employee/tutoring handbook and ensure all the periodic supervision/staffing meetings/reviews with all the staff are performed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in HR and Payroll related fields.

Additional Skills:

  • Can work in a team environment.
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Can maintain a high degree of professionalism - can interface with all levels of the organization as a primary point of contact for team.
  • Has strong Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Is tech-savvy and resourceful.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Shows evidence of exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Has a proven record of planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Willing to undergo and pass a reference check, background check and obtain a Arizona fingerprint clearance card.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate summaries of candidate interviews and updates on all tasks in a timely manner.
  • Keep and report accurate and confidential information of all candidates, from application through hiring/termination.
  • Screen all resumes looking for key traits that will make candidates successful Sqooasha employees.
  • Provide pre-service trainings for newly hired staff.
  • Assist with maintaining employee and tutor handbook
  • Address all HR-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Act as a point of contact and gatekeeper for upper-management on all recruiting processes - providing timely updates on job postings, applicant pool, applicant status etc.
  • Provide timely updates and information on all human resource matters, including compliance notifications and required postings.
  • Collect information, perform research and data analysis as needed; provide suggestions to the upper-managers with the best solution to solve problems.
  • Observe and participate in the daily company operations to continuously optimize the workflow & process, improve team efficiency, and reduce the interventions by upper-management.
  • Respond to the needs of the stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure professional development trainings of all staff are current.
  • Work directly with leadership to promote a healthy learning environment for students.
  • Review and implement HR processes and policies in line with local, state and federal laws.
  • Schedule and perform exit interviews.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and other mandatory reports.
  • Help address short-term program coordination needs for the multiple offices.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
