WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE //
Use and properly maintain the CNC Router, Laser Cutter/Engraver, and 3D Printers.
Proficient with department software, Rhino, V-Carve, and Enroute.
Responsible for the programming, operating, and maintaining the Digital Fabrication machines and their surrounding areas.
Proficient at selecting tooling, creating tool paths, feeds, and speeds to produce the highest-quality components the machine can deliver.
Document and keep up to date a daily log of processing with process times and specs for all digital fabrication operations.
Recommend tooling and/or upgrades to improve all digital fabrication processes.
Provide support in estimating digital fabrication labor and materials costs.
Stay current with relevant technology, trends, and developments and pursue continuing education in CNC Flatbed cutting, Laser Flatbed Cutting, and 3D Printing.
Troubleshoot programming and mechanical aspects of our equipment.
Assisted in training junior staff members on properly using and maintaining all digital fabrication equipment.
Be Forklift certified and proficient in its use.
Provide hands-on fabrication support throughout the production process as required.
Assure projects are kept on track and tasks are completed on time.
Research materials, hardware, finishes, and methodologies.
Provide recommendations in support of fabrication.
Develop material take-offs, hardware, and finish schedules to support purchasing for fabrication.
Measure and lay out parts for fabrication with precision.
Generate cut lists for fabrication of component parts.
Plan work for safe and efficient execution with consideration of logistics and order of operations.
Set up and operate stationary and hand-held power tools safely.
Create jigs and fixtures for the safe and effective production of parts.
Handle materials and products with care.
Maintain tools, machinery, benches, materials, hardware, and workspaces that are clean and organized.
Punctuality, reliability, and polite professionalism is expected.
Comply with all safety protocols. Attend and participate in safety meetings. Observe and report
unsafe conditions and practices to your supervisor.
