This role will focus on:Role Summary
This is a newly established role set out to create,deliver and drive strategic and tactical business development for the LifeSciences division in North America. Starting a new function the incumbent willdevelop and build competence including direct reports overseeing Businessdevelopment and Marketing. Through strategic alignment with global WMFTSbusiness development this function ensures the US Life Sciences organizationand the sales teams are equipped and motivated to expand the addressablemarket. The successful Business Development Manager has a deep understandingand experience of our target markets and customers, masters consultativesolutions-based marketing and business development. As a member of the Life Sciences managementteam, the Business Development Manager will actively contribute and engage inthe growth strategies of the entire business division.
What you’ll be doing
Actively seek to expand the addressable market by driving total customer solutions approach to business development and marketing
Drive Targeted Growth Campaigns aligned with Pervasive Trends: Implementing campaign plans across North America with KPIs and performance trackers supporting global strategy and through collaboration with WMFTS GBM team.
As the regional BD stakeholder and representative, contribute and actively influence the commercial scope for Life Sciences New Product Development (NPD)
Drive North America product vitality through prelaunch growth plan for New Product Innovation (NPI) and then lead the post launch implementation strategy, delivering unit and growth targets
Communicate, liaise and gain buy-in from sales teams for BD initiatives and programs
Develop and implement US marketing promotional strategy and activities through with the local resource and the WMFTS central marketing team.
Deliver positioning and promotional strategies for each brand to the sales team for implementation.
Collaborate with other regional BD managers facilitate the continued communication between key stakeholders in other strategic regions to support a combined penetration campaign for end users with multiple production facilities around the world.
Drive regional-based market research to deliver a comprehensive understanding of all the factors influencing the life science industry for each brand.
Creation and delivery of the annual marketing plan in coordination with group and regional marketing.
Establish and own effective KPIs for Business Development and Marketing, creating effective communication tools for upper management
Provide effective talent development and management for BD and Marketing direct reportsTo be successful in this role, youwill need:This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s degree required in Business or Engineering discipline; MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years business development experience, or combination marketing management & sales management roles
Minimum of 5 years within the Life Science markets; Biopharm equipment preferred
Minimum of 3 years managing direct reports
Proven history of business development including product launches, sales tool creation, and market research
Biopharm processing knowledge with understanding of automation and clean room manufacturing or medical diagnostic equipment knowledge preferred
Technical and commercial knowledge in single-use components, assembly and manufacturing a plus
Have a proven track record of leadership and problem solving with customer focus
Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to multitask and set priorities for team members including direct reports
Exceptional oral and written communication skills required to communicate with internal and external resources
Proficient in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
Working knowledge of CRM and ERP systems (MS Dynamics preferred)
Ability to manage a remote and local staff
