Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering high-quality eye care services. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, performing diagnostic tests, maintaining medical records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the ophthalmic practice. Duties: - Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in conducting eye examinations and procedures - Prepare patients for examinations by taking their medical history and documenting relevant information - Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and visual field testing - Administer eye drops or medications as directed by healthcare providers - Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and post-operative instructions - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems (Epic) - Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment - Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow - Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort during visits Skills: - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology - Experience working in a medical office or optical setting is preferred - Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic) - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks - Knowledge of retail sales or experience in sales is a plus We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
