What will you be doing?

• Loading plants and materials for projects
• Operating equipment and tools necessary for the job
• Planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants and learning best practices for planting
• Unloading trucks at the end of the day

Physical Requirements: Please Note this position is labor-intensive and requires the following actions and abilities multiple times throughout the day

• Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, balancing and lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Repeated hauling of loads up to 150 pounds in a wheelbarrow of distances up to 100 ft., and up a 30% incline onto a truck bed.
• Repeated use of proper hand tools as necessary to perform the planting of trees, shrubs and other plant materials in the methods approved by Southwood.
• Exposure to fertilizers and pesticides.
• Work environment is a combination of indoors in a greenhouse and outdoors in all types of weather including extreme heat, cold, and various types of precipitation.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Work Location: various locations departing from 9025 S Lewis Avenue via company truck most days
