Job Summary: As a global manufacturer of high performance interconnect solutions and perimeter security systems, Southwest Microwave, Inc. is seeking a hands on Accounting Manager to join our team based in Tempe, Arizona. The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage accounting functions, which may include revenue, accounts receivable, cash management, expenses, leases, accounts payable, or inventory. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department.

Job Duties: Minimum job duties include the following.

• Manage daily accounting functions including general ledger, receivables, payables, inventories, and asset management.
• Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensuring that all accounting processes align with GAAP and current financial legislation.
• Manage payroll functions including outside payroll vendor.
• Analyzing financial data and creating reports for management, stakeholders, and external parties.
• Coordinate accounting activities with activities of other departments.
• Prepare budgets and coordinate audits.
• Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
• Manage accounting department staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience: 5 years of experience in Accounting or Auditing, 3 years of experience in Management. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles. Exceptional math skills. Proficiency with MS Excel. High level of efficiency and accuracy. Attention to detail and the ability to analyze large amounts of data. Manufacturing experience preferred.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA license is preferred.

Physical demands: Able to sit and work with a computer for prolonged periods. Able to carry up to 25 lbs.
