Cashier/Receptionist - Municipal Building  Pay Rate: $11.00-$11.50 per hour

 Schedule: Not more than 19 hours a week, flexible scheduleCashier/Receptionist - Municipal Building• Open and close the Information Desk according to procedure.• Answer customer questions and provide assistance and information in a professional manner.• Positively promote the service philosophy of the Southfield Parks & Recreation Department. Handle complaints politely; refer to Supervisor.• Handle and count cash accurately; operate a cash register; handle credit card transactions.• Register customers for Parks & Recreation programs, classes and activities using a registration software.• Answer phone, take messages and transfer calls professionally and with a smile.• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.Cashier/Receptionist - Municipal Building• Must be 16 years of age or older with a certain level of maturity to handle this high profile position. • Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to use logical and rational thinking to solve problems. • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including those involving fractions, decimals and percentages. • Ability to carry out detailed written and or verbal instructions independently.The selection process will include a review of the applicant’s experience, criminal history and an oral board interview. Each step of the selection process must be passed before the applicant will be considered for advancement to the next step. Applicants will be invited to further participate in the selection process based on the nature and extent of their related experience.
