Sorrell Law Firm, PLC is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Scottsdale, AZ

Join our team and be a pivotal part of a dynamic, growing tax, estate planning, and business law firm located in Scottsdale, Arizona. We are dedicated to solving our clients legal problems so they can live happier lives. We are seeking a proactive and experienced leader to oversee and enhance operations, human resources, client relations, and financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Management: Own the recruitment process, including seeking, vetting, and Kolbe testing candidates. Ensure the firm's compliance with employment laws, handle employee relations, track work hours, leave, and administer employee benefit plans, ensuring they meet employee needs and align with firm goals.

Employee Productivity Oversight: Conduct weekly reviews of employee productivity, analyze billable hours, and assess the profitability of flat fee services. Ensure employees meet their targets and contribute positively to the firm's objectives.

Quality Control: Manage the firm's calendar, including deadlines, hearings, and client delivery dates. Encourage and facilitate the collection of Google reviews from clients upon case closure.

Billing & Financial Management: Oversee the preparation of engagement letters, invoices, and financial statements. Manage IOLTA reconciliations, tax filings, and client accounts to ensure the firm's financial health and compliance.

New Client Consultation: Assist with new client consultations, scheduling, and onboarding to ensure a smooth and welcoming client intake process.

Office Management: Ensure the efficient operation of the office, including space utilization, client visits, and planning client and employee appreciation events.

Expense Control: Monitor and evaluate firm expenses, seeking efficiency and cost-effectiveness in procurement and vendor management.

Administrative Staff Supervision: Directly supervise filing, reception, and administrative personnel, ensuring optimal performance, and oversee the firm's IT and systems security.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in law firm administration or a similar role, with a strong understanding of operations, human resources, and financial management.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, with a focus on efficiency and quality control.
  • Familiarity with legal software, billing practices, and compliance requirements.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude, capable of managing a diverse set of responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
