We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in mainframe technology to join our team at Solix. The ideal candidate will lead projects focused on the development, deployment, and enhancement of mainframe systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management acumen to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution: Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Resource Management: Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
Risk Management: Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Technical Guidance: Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Ensure adherence to mainframe system best practices and quality standards.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Project Documentation: Document all phases of the project, including providing detailed updates for project status reports.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years of direct work experience in project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, Basecamp, or equivalent.
Technical Skills: Solid understanding of mainframe computing environments, including but not limited to z/OS, COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Experience with mainframe modernization efforts and integration with modern technologies is a plus.
Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Leadership: Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management

Salary: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
