 A Technical Project Manager is responsible for providing project planning and management for established technology initiatives within a company. They ensure that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget. A Technical Project Manager is the lead subject matter expert within the company regarding technology project concerns, status, challenges, and actions. They use their industry expertise to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management. They will be able to elicit technical requirements leading through solution design by conducting work breakdown sessions, whiteboarding sessions, and scrum methodologies.

Results Measure By the Following Responsibilities:

  • Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
  • Responsibilities involve integration of programmatic, technical, systems engineering, business, and personnel elements of project
  • Solve complex problems through your leadership in applying your project management, systems engineering, and people skills. 
  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and negotiating price and payment agreements with vendors.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
  • Defining requirements, concepts of operation, and architectures
  • Tailoring and applying program management and systems engineering processes
  • Leading and defending technical and programmatic decisions
  • Developing, managing, and defending cost and schedule
  • Conducting acquisition planning and source selection
  • Own the Implementation Lifecycle from integration to implementation of best practices
  • Work with Finance to ensure the Onboarding queue is maintained and customers are added to the billing cycle.
  • Work with the Business Development and Sales teams to ensure a smooth handover from department to department.
  • Develop referral program strategy tailored to client’s business goals, ensuring the client is setup for success
  • Minimize time-to-value through effective project management of internal and external milestones
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects:
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Deliver projects on-time, within scope and budget
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage challenges to the project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance and relationships with clients and stakeholder
  • Interface with client stakeholders across multiple departments to deliver a best in class implementation

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Minimum three years management experience in the IT field, including development work and interactions with customers
