Snack Craft is Hiring an Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk Near Grand Rapids, MI

Description: The Accounts Payable and Receivable Clerk will prepare and disburse invoices to customers. Resolve issues with delinquent accounts through contacting and working with the customer. Reconcile transactions with statements. Maintain accurate financial record of all receivable and payable transactions, and verifications.

Department: Finance

Reports To: Finance Controller

Work Hours:

  • 40-45 hours per week (Monday - Friday):
  • Office Standard Hours: Between 7:00am - 5:00pm

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role utilizes standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines) and requires some visits to the factory floor.

Qualification, Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate degree in related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
  • High degree of accuracy
  • Great attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in mathematics
  • Experience with ledger systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
  • Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.
  • Updating and maintaining records of expenditures
  • Sending out payments for company credit cards
  • Responding to vendor invoices
  • Ensuring that all payments are made in accordance with company policy
  • Ensuring that all payments are sent on time
  • Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes on behalf of the company
  • Obtains revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
  • Secures financial information.
  • Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements
  • Analyze financial statements
  • Follow OSHA Safety Regulation and Safety Rules.
  • Report any Safety concerns to Safety Committee.

Physical Demands:

  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment
  • Reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally
  • Bending at the waist, kneeling, sitting, or crouching
  • Ability to walk and stand up during shift
