Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers is Hiring a Chief Financial Officer Near Milwaukee, WI

  1. Oversee all aspects of SSCHC finances and the fiscal health of the organization.
  2. Work with the Treasurer if SSCHC's Board of Directors to assist the the Board in understanding and providing governance of our financial position.
  3. Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with General Accounting Procedures and all other regulations and standards.
  4. Analyze and interpret SSCHC financial performance and communicate that analysis to Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
  5. Identify strengths and weaknesses in financial performance and recommend operational changes to improve performance.
  6. Engage an audit firm and complete annual audit as required.
  7. Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
  8. Direct revenue cycle operations to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections of clinical activities.
  9. Create annual organizational budget and track and communicate departmental adherence to budget.
  10. Oversee grants management function to ensure that SSCHC is a good steward of grant funding and that SSCHC spends and tracks grant according to regulations.
  11. Fully understand FQHC PPS reimbursement and develop strategy to leverage that reimbursement for the SSCHC community.
  12. Ensure compliance with appropriate internal financial controls and procedures, and update such controls and procedures as needed.
  13. Drive SSCHC investment strategy to maximize revenue generation within tolerable level of risk.
  14. Maintain accurate and current fixed asset records.
  15. Determine and arrange for adequate working capital by working with banks and/or investment bankers, and other financial partners.
  16. Determine and apply depreciation policy to capitalized items.
  17. Develop financial projections for strategic initiatives and guide organizational analysis of options.
  18. Develop non-business related income opportunities to diversify SSCHC revenue generation.
  19. Evaluate and recommend insurance coverage for protection against business losses.
  20. Supervise, support and mentor accounting, and revenue cycle staff. Support and train program staff in areas that are related to the fiscal health of the agency (such as budgeting).
  21. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. CPA or MBA and a degree in business administration, accounting or finance.
  2. Strong treasury/financial skills.
  3. Over 5 years of experience in not for profit accounting.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  6. Strong knowledge of generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government cost reporting and allowable cost policies.
  7. Must be a team player and understand the unique environment of a not for profit agency. Willing ness to roll up sleeves and "do whatever it takes."
  8. Strong computer skills.
  9. Individual must have integrity and honesty in all business dealings.
