We are looking for a confident and motivated, hard working Veterinary Assistant to join our team.
Sirius Veterinary Orthopedic Center employs 3 Full-Time Surgeons who operate 5 days a week. Our facility is equipped with 4 operating suites, Mindray WATO EX-35 anesthesia systems, multi-parameter monitoring equipment, a dedicated sterile processing area, and a separate post-operative recovery room. Imaging capabilities include Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, and C-Arm.
Our Veterinary Assistant team use their technical and critical thinking skills on a daily basis to ensure a positive outcome for all of our surgical patients. Our assistants are fully utilized both in and out of the operating room, and function with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility. Solid technical skills, sound judgement, and a strong foundation and interest in surgery are important. Ability to work on a team and thrive in a busy work environment is a must.
Summary of Duties: The Veterinary Assistant is to provide support to all departments by using all available resources, learned skills, and communication skills in order to provide great patient care. A veterinary hospital assistant is well-versed in the basic responsibilities of all departments. They are to help and assist with appointments, exams, surgical procedures, or recovery. This individual possesses the ability to remain versatile, and positive, and be a part of a strong team. The Veterinary Assistant provides support to the Doctor's Assistant during all patient appointments. The Veterinary Hospital Assistant will provide pre-and post-operative care to help ensure a positive outcome for all surgical patients.

Schedule: This position is 36-40 hours/week. No weekends or major holidays. No on call duties.
Starting Pay: $18-$20/hr depending on relevant skill and experience.
