Our goal is to provide a better experience by removing the trip to the veterinary clinic. PetPals Wellness Wagon is outfitted like a small exam room so we bring the clinic to you! We also use Fear-Free techniques when caring for your pet to ensure as little stress as possible.

Overview:

PetPals Wellness Wagon, a mobile clinic serving Omaha NE and surrounding areas, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join the team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to pets around Omaha. PetPals Wellness Wagon is focused on preventative care but will address minor illnesses. No surgery, emergencies, or euthanasias. Currently looking for a committment of one or two days per week.

Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians with examinations and procedures

- Use Fear-Free handling techniques

- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarian

- Help maintain the mobile clinic

- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples

- Maintain accurate medical records

Requirements:

- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but all eperience levels will be considered.

- Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Skills:

- Proficient in animal handling techniques

- Knowledge of pet care best practices

- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment

- Understanding of dog training principles

- Ability to restrain animals safely during procedures
