Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking a Quality Control Manager is responsible for administering the quality control program, including preparing the quality control plan, and reviewing test results, inspection reports, material certificates, and production processes to assure that materials conform to contract requirements.

• Requires early AC check to project volumetrics of each material produced.
• Maintain timely results of material tests both incoming and outgoing.
• Manage and coordinate with technicians on daily tasks and duties.
• Communication - QC Managers work in a collaborative environment, which requires strong verbal communication skills and relationships with project owners.
• Attend weekly required meetings. Maintain open communication.
• Testing all lines of business; i.e., roller patterns, roadway core results, on site densities and proctor and concrete.
• Identifying and communicating in a timely manner:
  • Adjustments to material.
  • Recommended shutdown.
  • Suspension or termination of production.
• Promote Intelligent Compaction use with all paving crews where applicable.
• Time-management - QC Managers use time-management skills to perform many tasks within a tight deadline.
• Computer skills - documenting accurate information, which requires basic computer knowledge.
  • Maintaining Stonemont software with all outgoing asphalt, and stockpile results.
  • Report Stonemont material projections.
  • Maintain all needed credentials to keep QC programs recognized.

• Highschool graduate with strong math/science aptitude.
• Computer knowledge of Word, Excel, Email, adaptable to in-house software.
• Good math skills to perform accurate calculations for daily tasks.
• Read and understand job requirements and technical specifications.
• Ability to learn how to reference plans for test locations.
• Valid drivers license with clean MVR.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective internal and external communication.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Must be able to work at multiple sites/locations.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs for long periods of time.
