Education/Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: computer science, information technology, or a related field required.
• Active Secret security clearance required.

Skills:

• Networking Knowledge: A strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, etc.
• Operating Systems: Familiarity with various operating systems, especially Windows and Linux.
• Security Skills: Knowledge of network security principles and practices.
• Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve network issues.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills are essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and vendors.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Configure network devices.
• Maintain Configuration Management and Version Management of the devices, their configurations, and their software / firmware.
• Troubleshoot network and system issues.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to regarding network design decisions.
• Generate, Update, and Review technical documentation.
• Support Test Events and System Demonstrations

Specific Technologies:

• Software Firewalls (iptables, etc.)
• 1Q VLANs
• Packet examination tools (WireShark, tcpdump, etc.)
• Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switches
• Cross Domain Solutions
• Multicast networking
• MIL-STD-6017 Tactical Messaging
• Azure Dev Ops

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

• Cisco Certifications: Cisco offers a range of certifications, such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), which are highly regarded in the industry.
• CompTIA Network : A vendor-neutral certification covering essential networking skills.
• Certifications from other vendors: Depending on the specific technologies and vendors used in the workplace, certifications from other providers like Juniper, Microsoft, or VMware may be valuable.
