Sightline Hospitality is seeking Prep Cooks (Full-time and Part-time) for the Pepper Club Restaurant located in The English Hotel in Las Vegas.

About the Hotel and Restaurant

The English Hotel located in the Arts District of Las Vegas features 74 rooms with 11 private patios, and 12 upper floor suites. Top Chef Todd English’s signature restaurant is a feature of this modern hotel which embraces the art district culture. The hotel and restaurant creates a new and authentic and artistic experience for both locals and tourists.

Job Responsibilities

To follow all specifications to safely and properly prepare vegetables for cooking and serving, including washing, peeling, paring, and chopping.
To follow all specifications and recipes in the preparation of food items for restaurants, employee meals, banquets, room service, and special functions.
To retrieve needed stores from Purchasing, as directed.
To assist Line Cooks and supervisors, as directed.
To assist, as directed, to serve banquets and special functions, and to prepare special menu items.
To follow all company policies and procedures.
To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Essential Experience/Aptitudes:

Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of kitchen operation helpful.
Must have thorough knowledge of proper use and storage of all relevant kitchen tools and equipment.

Desired Skills/Experience:

Must be organized, efficient and meet high quality standards for service.
Able to accept direction and constructive criticism in a high stress environment.
Good team player.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
Must be detail oriented.
Able to work productively with little supervision.

Essential Physical Abilities:

Frequently required to handle and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. over short to moderate distances.
Must be able to work well under pressure.
Pushes, pulls, bends and lifts to perform routine job tasks.
