BGSF has teamed up with a large non-profit organization based in downtown Chicago who is in search of a Payroll Specialist on a contract-to-hire basis. Please note that this organization does operate on a hybrid schedule with the need to come in 2-3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

• Full-cycle payroll processing, up to 850 employees
• Calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system
• Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed
• Prepare and execute pay orders through an electronic system or distribute paychecks
• Administer statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper
• Process taxes and payment of employee benefits
• Keep track of hour rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.
• Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors
• Prepare reports for upper management, finance department etc.

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 2 years of full-cycle payroll processing experience
• Must have experience processing payroll for 500 individuals
• Multi-state payroll experience preferred
• Must have experience with payroll tax
• Strong Excel skills required

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
