Job Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mesurg Tele ED Holding department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality and efficient patient care in a telemedicine setting. Working within the dynamic environment of the Emergency Department (ED), you will utilize advanced technology and your clinical expertise to assess, monitor, and manage patients remotely. This position requires exceptional critical thinking skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

• Remote Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients utilizing telemedicine technology, including video conferencing and digital monitoring devices.
• Triage and Prioritization: Accurately triage patients based on the severity of their condition, ensuring timely intervention and appropriate resource allocation.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with onsite healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to coordinate patient care plans and facilitate smooth transitions between telemedicine and in-person care.
• Medication Management: Administer medications remotely as ordered by physicians, ensuring adherence to medication safety protocols and patient education regarding medication administration.
• Remote Monitoring: Utilize telehealth monitoring equipment to continuously monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall clinical status, intervening as necessary to prevent deterioration and promote optimal outcomes.
• Patient Education: Provide clear and concise education to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies, promoting patient empowerment and adherence to treatment plans.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of telemedicine services, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
• Professional Development: Stay abreast of advancements in telemedicine technology and evidence-based practices through ongoing education and professional development activities, enhancing clinical proficiency and contributing to the advancement of nursing practice.
• Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures, governing the practice of nursing and the delivery of telemedicine services.

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Certification in Telehealth Nursing or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• Minimum of 18 months of clinical experience in an acute care setting, preferably in an Emergency Department or critical care environment.
• Proficiency in utilizing telemedicine technology and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Commitment to providing patient-centered care with a focus on safety, quality, and compassion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and organizational priorities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
