Job Title: Registered Nurse, Cardiac Stepdown
Location: Rochester, NY
Salary: $2880 a week
Shifts: 3x12s – 36hrs or 4x12s - 48hrs – days/evenings/nights rotating

Key Responsibilites of the Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiac status, including monitoring vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and oxygen saturation levels.
• Administer medications, titrate intravenous drips, and provide therapeutic interventions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, recognizing and promptly responding to any changes or abnormalities in patients' cardiac rhythms.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans based on patients' cardiac conditions and treatment goals.
• Provide patient and family education on cardiac health, medications, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge care instructions.
• Assist with cardiac procedures and interventions, such as cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, and cardioversion, as needed.
• Document all aspects of patient care accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols and promoting patient comfort and well-being.
• Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a culture of patient-centered care and teamwork.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown:

• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• NY RN License
• 2 years previous experience
