Seminole Hard Rock Support Services is Hiring a DIRECTOR - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Near Davie, FL

Overview

The Director of Business & Casino Development is responsible for supporting the growth initiatives of Hard Rock through new management contracts, acquisitions, joint ventures and new casino development activities. This person will work with the Development team to provide and manage the financial modeling and business and data analyses in all aspects of underwriting, research and transaction structuring. This position requires a high degree of accuracy as the information provided by the Development Team is the critical in supporting the decision on transactions at the senior management level.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain complex financial models to perform analyses under different operating scenarios using input from management and public sources and conduct in-depth fundamental, financial and operational due diligence and analysis on new business development opportunities, investments and acquisitions
  • Perform valuation and financial analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions pro forma projections and LBO analyses to provide decision makers the information needed to evaluate a potential development project and investment opportunity
  • Assist in the coordination of due diligence activities and support the deal process from start to finish, including preparing virtual data rooms, tracking and coordinating the information flow, and reviewing and analyzing company information
  • Conduct due diligence, financial and operating statements review, and perform market research on potential development locations. Identify competitive properties, analyze zip codes, drive times, visitation frequencies, market propensities, fair share, and other market performance metrics to determine the potential for the subject development.
  • Prepare descriptive memorandums, management presentations, Board presentations, pitch materials, and other materials and collaborate with senior management on presentation materials for prospective investment opportunities, lenders, capital providers, and JV partners
  • Analyze the performance results of market trends, competition and industry news, including pending legislation.
  • Liaise with other teams, including among the Hotel & Casino, Finance and Legal divisions regarding the development pipeline and deal terms to surface any potential issues impacting our tax structure or debt covenants during the development process.
  • Coordinate with the Project Design & Construction team on development building program, and projected deal terms and capital structure assumptions.
  • Assist to develop and maintain the development deal pipeline and client relationships to evaluate potential opportunities
  • Participate in new business development execution including the preparation and review of legal documentation, transaction structuring and capital markets events

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university in an analytical and/or business-oriented major (Finance, Economics, Business or Accounting) is required.
  • At least two (2) years of work experience in a high-paced environment focusing on qualitative and quantitative analysis. Previous experience in gaming, private equity, investment banking, M&A, strategy consulting firm, corporate finance or corporate development industries is preferred. MBA, CFA or CPA is desirable.

SKILLS

  • Very strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills, including DCF, LBO, trading comparables, precedent transactions, three-statement models and combined pro forma models
  • Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting
  • Experience analyzing company financials and transaction documents
  • Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional and mature manner
  • Deeply analytical and thoughtful in analyzing a company’s financials and growth prospects.
  • Exceptional Excel/modeling/forecasting skills are essential, as is advance knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Must have strong understanding of accounting, valuation, and financial statements
  • Must be a VERY organized, detail-oriented team player and be able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Self-motivation and strong work ethic are vital. Must maintain robust multitasking abilities, service-oriented personality, be stress resistant, and possess an intellectual curiosity with an investigative mind
  • Understanding of worldwide gaming markets, performance and regulations.
  • Multiple language abilities a plus; fluency in English required.
  • Must possess strong communication and listening skills, excellent speaking, reading and writing.
  • Comprehend and use technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas.
  • Ability to effectively pitch and present information in one-on-one and group situations to media, customers, clients, partners and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform complex quantitative calculations or reasoning using algebra, geometry, statistics, or abstract symbols.
  • Ability to use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret information and deal with abstract variables for unique or unfamiliar situations. Strong organizational skills. Technology savvy.

  • Ability to move throughout the corporate office and cafes during visits (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
