Description

We are seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to schedule appointments; coordinate arrangements for meetings, conferences and travel; organizes and expedites flow of work; prepares routine and non-routine special reports including gathering and summarizing data; establishes and maintains highly confidential files and records; composes and type letters and correspondences. Has the ability to exercise initiative and judgment on administrative projects and the ability to follow established procedures in completing the daily administrative duties.

Compensation: $53,000 - $67,000/annually

Location: 1501 Lady Street, Columbia, SC 29201

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Schedules appointments, coordinates meetings, conferences and travel.

Schedules meetings as necessary, including preparation of agenda and related materials, notification of participants, coordination of catering. Sets up client/ vendor meetings as necessary. Coordinates executives corporate travel arrangements.

2. Organizes and expedites flow of work.

Prioritizes routine duties with project work to maximize productivity; facilitates timely completion of assignments. Works with business unit heads to ensure effective communication and follow through on routine and special project activity.

3. Prepares routine and non-routine special reports including gathering and summarizing data.

Works independently to gather and summarize data in appropriate report format.

4. Establishes and maintains highly confidential files and records. 

Exercises the utmost discretion, handles highly confidential records and materials, including the copying and distributing of materials to appropriate parties.

5. Composes and type letters and correspondences.

Responsible for wording and processing of letters and correspondence as needed by executives.

6. Other Administrative Duties

Other administrative duties as requested.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, associates or secondary education preferred plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in insurance or office administration; OR a comparable combination of education and work experience related to this position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Access.
