JOB SUMMARY The Director of Communicationsis a dynamic and challenging role for candidates that are excellentcommunicators, non-linear thinkers, and initiative-takers! The role is partlytraditional corporate communications where you'll support the development,management, and delivery of an integrated communications strategy and planfor Seadrill across all channels, existing and new, consistent to Seadrillstrategy and objectives and in collaboration with all on the CommunicationsTeam. You'll do this by being the lead Business Partner to internal supportfunctions and Operating Units.
The other part of the role isto be an adaptable strategic thinker with a flair for navigating ambiguityand fostering clarity in undefined environments. The ideal candidate willdemonstrate a nimble mindset, swiftly adapting to change, and leading withcreativity amidst uncertainty.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
CommunicationsStrategy
  • Collaborate with Director ofCommunications to create, adapt, and deliver a cohesive SeadrillCommunications Strategy across internal and external channels.
  • Translate Seadrill- andfunction-level strategies into actionable communication objectives andplans.
  • Understand and embrace theopportunity to influence Seadrill culture and morale.
  • Maintain an informed knowledge ofthe oil and gas industry, including offshore drilling and future technologydevelopments.
Business Partnering
  • Develop and maintain strongrelationships with key stakeholders, leaders, champions, and influencers; understandtheir motivations, perspectives, and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain a 'seat at thetable' with functional leaders to guide and inform their communicationsstrategy; be the thought leader.
  • Manage and deliver function- andcampaign-specific communications plans; set clear objectives and develop anaction-oriented plan to achieve them.
Content Production
  • Manage and produce variouspublications, newsletters, copy for websites, press releases,presentations, and articles and conduct meetings to share information,where needed.
  • Manage and produce digital contentincluding video, podcasts, social media, interactive PowerPoint.
  • Embrace continuous learning andutilization of new communication technologies including the use of ArtificialIntelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality.
Project Sponsorship &Management
  • Lead and support special projects asthe need arises.
  • Manage other team members andcontractors delivering special Communications projects and campaigns;monitor and manage their performance.
Communications Excellence
  • Support the development and ongoingimprovement of the Communications Operating Model.

Essential
  • Listensto be heard.

  • End to end delivery -milestones/deliverables tracking, used to working to marketing/commsproduction schedules is translatable to this.

  • Ability to travel, including overseasand offshore.
  • Fluentin Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
Desired
  • Proficient to fluent in themanagement and use of Content Management Systems (SharePoint), Adobe DesignSuite (Indesign, Photoshop), and social media (Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Preference given to candidates with drillingand/or other Oil & Gas experience.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree qualified of 2.1 orabove or 6 years of experience in a related field.
  • Managed teams and/or projects of 2 peopleand/or $100K budget.
  • BOSIET certification or willingness to getcertified.
Preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)certification.
