POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Minimum of 48 college hours is preferred.
3. Experience working with children is preferred.
4. Texas Educational Aide Certification is preferred or the ability to acquire it.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assiststeacher(s) withstudentacademicgoals,by workingwithsmall groups of children or an individual child.

1. Assists teacher(s) in the enforcement of classroom management and behavioral plans, creating an environment that is appropriate for learning.
2. Assistswithsupervisingstudentsduringbreakfast,recess, lunch,dismissal,specialevents,and programs.
3. Assists teacher(s) in the preparation of paperwork for the ARD/IEP process. Collects and enters data for completion of special education reports and documents.

1. Assists teacher(s) with the planning, preparation and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students and groups.
2. Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
2. Abilitytoestablishandmaintaineffective working relationships both internal and external to the district.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. LightWork:may require occasional light lifting.
2. Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
3. Positionisinclassroomsettingand requires intermittent speaking, standing, walking and writing.

1. Moderate travel is required.
