Description

Job Role Description:

Schoeller Allibert US, Inc is looking for a quality engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. The quality engineer's responsibilities include designing quality standards to ensure that manufactured products meet a high level of quality. 

Develop processes, procedures and implement systems/methodologies to ensure that products meet customer requirements.

Work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures that align with the corporates structure.

A successful quality engineer will have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. 

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION: BS in Industrial Engineering

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s degree in engineering

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 

At least 5 years' experience in the creation of quality implementation and sustainment of an ISO-9001 based Quality Systems. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S and Six Sigma processes.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ASQ - CQE

QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to use metrology tools and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices. Good understanding of problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5WHY, Fishbone Diagram, etc. 

PRIMARY DUTIES

A First Article, In-Process and New Product design measurements and reports using a CMM (Hexagon – Absolute Arm)

B Work closely with Department Managers and Supervisors in their areas to identify defective parts or processes and develop methods &/or processes to prevent continued occurrences.

C Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component

D Develop PFMEA, Control Plan & Process Flow diagrams up to and including PPAP submission.

E Utilize the PDCA tool to solve problems identified during quality activities.

F Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including sub-contractors and supplier quality manuals and company quality records.

G Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current sub-contractors and supplier process and process changes.

H Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.

I Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory duties are required. However, there may be occasion to direct SA hourly personnel during onsite visits.

Physical Requirements

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places. Work in this occupation involves use of protective items such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, a hard hat, etc. Work in an environment where sound and noise levels are loud and distracting along with exposure to seasonal temperatures.
