SYSTEM SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
Description: Under general supervision, uses knowledge and skills to perform hardware and software support for Exeter School District—Resolves hardware, software, and communication problems/conflicts/defects. Interact with students and staff, recommend inventory stock, and maintain inventory of all technology equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Investigate, analyze, and resolve hardware and software issues related to SAU 16 technology.
Perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of Windows, Apple, and Google Chromebook computers and peripherals.
Organize, label, set up, and distribute student Chromebooks and iPads annually
Provide technical software assistance to students, staff, and families.
Welcome new staff, set up accounts and hardware, provide training and support, ensure security awareness, and maintain documentation.
Provide advanced hardware technical assistance and network support; troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and conflicts. Respond to IT tickets.
Evaluate, install, and upgrade systems based on student and staff needs, customize and test computer systems, and resolve configuration conflicts and errors.
Maintain accurate inventory records of all technical equipment and work with building administration to build an annual technology budget based on school needs.
Document project progress and prioritize and process problem reports.
Maintain a high-level quality of customer service standards in dealing with and responding to questions and support requests.
Provide support and installation of audio-visual equipment.
Serve as the primary contact for SAU 16 Technical Services, addressing network, telephone, and related technical issues within the Exeter School District.
Add, remove, and edit content on the websites. Stay up to date with new updates and features of the Exeter School District websites.
Maintain accurate inventory of all technical equipment.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Knowledge of maintenance and repair of technology hardware
Investigating and resolving problems and repairing as specified by work orders
Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
Good written and oral skills
Ability to handle the stress of customer service
A willingness to learn
Additional Information:
Heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling is required for objects up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders
Compensation will be commensurate with experience
