SAU 16 is Hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Near Exeter, NH

POSITION: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Demonstrates competence with the concepts of behavior management and applied behavioral analysis and applies the dimensions of applied behavior analysis when developing interventions for student success across the developmental and academic continuum (PK to 22 years of age)
  • Assesses behavior; identifies specific procedures for increasing and decreasing behaviors, including various instructional procedures and scheduled of reinforcement; and designs performance monitoring for overall program and procedural integrity
  • Conducts and interprets functional behavioral assessments when needed
  • Provides descriptive and functional analysis based on data collection for the purpose of adjusting instructional procedures and practices
  • Selects appropriate assessment tools; administers assessments, and interprets data to make research-driven decision for intervention strategies
  • Makes data-driven recommendations to facilitate plan implementation including environmental accommodations needed to implement functional alternatives when eliminating behaviors
  • Develops methods for observing, recording and displaying data, with an understanding of reliability and validity as it relates to data, and making decision based upon interpretation and visual analysis of data
  • Develops positive behavioral intervention plans
  • Applies principles, processes and concepts of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
  • Models for and trains staff regarding the principles of ABA and behavior
  • Consults and collaborates with school staff regarding specific student behavioral concerns, providing intervention guidance as needed
  • Attends IEP and other meetings, when appropriate, to provide expertise regarding behavioral analysis and intervention planning
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record keeping, as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by school administration including the Director of Special Education, Principal and Assistant Principal
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations, as well as school board policies, regarding education and students.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to use school district technology and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Masters degree
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst licensure
  • 3-5 years of experience as a BCBA
