OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the branch. Ensures established policies and procedures are followed. Trains, directs, and supervises branch staff. Accountable for maximizing revenues, sales, member satisfaction, and minimizing operational losses, as well as deepening existing relationships and minimizing member attrition. Responsible for successful implementation of promotional campaigns and product initiatives at the branch level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
Oversees lending function of branch to include processing of loans within established policies and time frames. Ensures that branch achieves assigned loan production goals.
Ensures personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs. Completes orientation of new employees in overall branch procedures. Actively participates in cross-training personnel and assures staff is kept abreast of all products and services. Conducts security training.
Ensures all branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day. Oversees individual accountability for the handling of cash and assists in resolving balancing problems.
Troubleshoots and resolves internal and external inquiries.
Is responsible for maintaining office building, grounds, equipment’s and fixtures.
Ensures member requests and questions are promptly resolved. Handles member complaints.
Primary Security officer for the branch. Conducts required security meetings with staff to ensure compliance. Opens and closes the building in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment quarterly.
Manages and oversees expenses. Ensures cost-saving measures.
Adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal regulatory guidelines including the Bank Secrecy Act and Regulation CC. Responsible for branch BSA and Regulation CC training.
Supports and motivates employees to sell products and/or services to meet members’ needs. Conducts sales meetings, monitors sales results, applies marketing strategies, and defines business development initiatives to achieve Credit Union goals and objectives.
Directs the branch collection efforts and controls.
Manages the maintenance, security, and safety of the branch.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and a minimum of three years financial institution operations experience or 5-7 years credit union or financial industry experience, including loan underwriting, with progressive responsibilities in management.
Knowledge of credit unions and operations is required.
