ABOUT THE MARKETING TEAM

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Events and Tradeshows Manager is responsible for maintaining a list of industry, tech and business events where Sand Technologies should consider speaking, exhibiting, sponsoring or attending. Once events are confirmed, this individual is responsible for project management and implementation of all related logistics, from contracting and construction to payment schedules and catering. Global travel will be required. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the Events and Tradeshows Manager must deliver on the following:

  • Active development and maintenance of an annual events calendar
  • Securing and managing all deadline and pricing information for speaking, sponsorship and exhibition opportunities
  • Identifying, engaging and managing all relevant vendors who play a role in executing a successful event (e.g. booth design and construction, logistics/transportation, lodging and room-block reservations, catering, lead-retrieval systems, restaurants/venues, etc.)
  • Support the Director of Industry Marketing in identifying relevant speaking opportunities and ensuring nominations are submitted on time and with all the necessary information
  • Coordination with the Director of Experiential Marketing on select Curated Event logistics
  • On-site support as required for events in various locations around the world

Success requires a keen understanding of the B2B event landscape and experience managing logistics for large- and medium-scale events. Working knowledge of the high-tech, consulting, talent-solutions or tech-services space is preferred.

Key performance indicators for the Events and Tradeshows Manager include:

  • Creation and maintenance of an annual event calendar (including deadlines and budgets) that addresses Sand Technologies’ target industries and geographies
  • On-time delivery of key event requirements to ensure a smooth on-site experience
  • Seamless execution of all event logistics and project-management requirements
  • Successful completion of events at or below predetermined budgets
  • Positive and collaborative approach to working with the Sand Technologies marketing team, including writer(s), designer(s), comms/PR, and campaign and industry marketers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10 years of event-management experience, ideally with a focus on B2B tech
  • Expertise in project/program management, with a keen eye for deadlines and budgets
  • Adept at evaluating and analyzing events in multiple industries to help determine the opportunities with the greatest strategic and lead-generation value
  • Ability to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple events at various stages of planning and execution
  • Ability to work and deliver independently, with the flexibility to support global time zones
