Position Overview:

As the Director of Staff Development (DSD), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs for our healthcare professionals. Your role will involve assessing staff learning needs, developing curriculum, organizing training sessions, and evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives. You will play a crucial part in ensuring our staff members are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver outstanding care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess staff training needs through regular evaluations and feedback mechanisms.
  • Develop, implement, and manage training programs, including orientation for new staff, ongoing professional development, and specialized clinical training.
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to identify specific training requirements for different roles within the facility.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff training and certifications.
  • Provide mentorship and support to staff members to enhance their skills and confidence.

Qualifications:

  • Current and active LVN or RN license in the state of California.
  • Current DSD certification is required.
  • Experience in staff development or nurse educaiton in a long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
  • Experience with EHR systems and computer-based training platforms is a plus.
