The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising plant employees under the leadership of the Plant Manager. This position implements established policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that all plant employees work safely and follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
•  Ensure that each department operates efficiently and cost effectively.
• Oversee the daily operations as assigned to departments.
• Supervise employees effectively - provide guidance and direction.
• Actively participate in our continuous improvement programs when required.
• Openly communicate ideas and concerns to your Plant Manager.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained and procedures are followed at all times.
• Ensure all employee hours are recorded correctly in the time and attendance system.
•  Render first aid when required.
• Work closely with your employees; communicate with them, listen to their thoughts and ideas and establish a positive report with all employees.
• Conduct meetings with employees regarding Health & Safety and quality concerns.
•  Complete weekly inspection report.
• Report all unsafe conditions to Supervisor, Health & Safety Coordinator and work order to Maintenance if required.
• Enforce safe job procedures and policies.
• Instruct new employees on all procedures required perform job safely.
• Instruct all employees on any new procedures required for the employee to perform his job safely.
• Investigate and complete report on all accidents causing injury.
• Other related functions as required.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5 experience in processing / plant knowledge
• Familiar with current ISO and QMS standards
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, processes, and quality system.
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, processes, and quality system.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
• Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions in addressing ISO 9001 requirements.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer skills (Word, Excel, AS400 preferred).
• Knowledge of equipment / product is an asset.
• Knowledge of crane and forklift operation, knowledge of measurement devices.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Bending, stooping, and pushing
• Ability to lift 50 lbs (22.7kg) maximum occasionally with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs (11.3kg).
