Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan, design, implement and administer comprehensive benefits strategies and programs, including work/life balance programs.
Strategically assess the effectiveness of current benefit programs in achieving organizational objectives; identifies best practices and benchmarks; and develops recommendations for modifications to align to HR strategy and business goals.
Effectively plan and direct the implementation and administration of all benefit plans, including annual open enrollment efforts.
Oversees administration of Leave of Absence Programs and policies. Creates and/or streamlines and implements processes and tools for the leave of absence programs.
Effectively manage and collaborate with vendors and external partners, including managing performance of contracts to ensure maximum value of services are delivered.
Act as project manager for benefits for all acquisitions; includes integration of newly acquired businesses and employees into current benefits, ensuring continuity of care and coverage is established.
Keeps abreast of regulatory changes affecting benefit plans and ensures company benefit plans and practices are in compliance with external regulatory requirements.
Develop and coordinate communication strategies and activities designed to educate and inform employees & leaders about benefits.
Prepare annual budget and manage expenditures related to the benefits programs.
Serve as the main resource for employees and managers regarding all benefit related matters.
Support the development and integration of new and/or existing benefits programs, policies and procedures to ensure programs are market competitive, internally equitable, and cost effective.
Develop internal operating procedures and controls for the administering and managing benefits.
Determine and implement metrics that assess and monitor the effectiveness of ongoing benefits programs and new initiatives
Focus on constant innovation to ensure that benefit programs remain competitive, sustainable, scalable, and positively impact the short- and long-term performance of the organization
Communicate actively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, HR and other departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
Manage data in accordance with the company’s record retention policies and procedures and state and federal laws and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues, records and company information.
Complete special projects, as assigned.
Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
Bachelor's Degree, Minimum 10 years of Benefit and Wellness experiences
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification, PHR or SHRM-CP or a plus.
10 years of experience in Benefits, Wellness including experience with self-insurance.
Sound knowledge of the Regulatory and Legislative imperatives and impacts related to Benefits programs (FLSA, Sec 125, ERISA, 409A, HIPAA, etc.).
Experienced with vendor-relations and multi-state employers preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through processes, identify and implement process improvements and resolve complex matters.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational/prioritization skills with an ability to multi-task to manage multiple projects while maintain a close attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Possess proven operational, interpersonal, project management, vendor management and leadership skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
