About the role:

Samsara’s People Team is growing and we are looking to add a People Partner with strategic HR Business Partner experience to our high-performing, inclusive team! This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong partnering skills to deliver impactful solutions that accelerate company and employee growth. We are looking for a highly collaborative, execution-focused individual who will dig deep into how to support the business at scale (culture, leadership practices, organizational health, program execution, among others). This role will primarily provide People Partnership to leaders and managers within the Field Operations & Go To Market organizations. You will also have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other People Partners and central people teams. The People Partner reports to the Sr Director, People Partners Go to Market. 

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

The role is remote with limited travel requirements. Will require flexibility to work PST hours on occasion.

In this role, you will: 

  • Establish yourself as a trusted partner for your executive leaders and collaborate with cross functional partners on initiatives that create a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Proactively assess organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
  • Be curious in all forms of Samsara’s business processes, constantly looking for ways to learn, collaborate, and help improve business outcomes
  • Deliver targeted solutions and recommendations with a focus on scale and growth, using an analytical and fact-based approach
  • Partner with People Partners and Employee Relations on complex personnel and org matters in the US and for our international employees/teams
  • Support cyclical People Programs initiatives such as performance review cycles, engagement surveys, training, etc.
  • Project manage and lead People Team efforts in alignment with business objectives
  • Maintain and apply a solid understanding of employment laws / regulations at the local, state, federal, and international levels
  • Maintain cultural and DEI awareness based on department and locale, and incorporate into business strategies and solutions
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4 years of relevant experience with a BA/BS degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree
  • 2 years in a strategic HR business partner capacity.
  • Experience using data to influence decisions at a senior leadership level
  • Passion to act with a quick pace and urgency, yet balanced with thoughtful, pragmatic, and outcome oriented mindset
  • Ability to facilitate sensitive situations with empathy while driving to resolution in the best interest of all parties
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive information with utmost confidence and professionalism
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication that concisely, accurately, and tactfully delivers the message
  • Excellent analytical skills, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving acumen

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Experience in a high-growth global tech company setting
  • Experience working with non-exempt employee populations
  • Educational degree with concentration(s) relating to human resources, business, law
