The Salvation Army Intermountain Div is Hiring an Intake Coordinator Near Denver, CO

Job Title: Intake Coordinator

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Program Manager

Schedule: FT, M-F 8:30am-5pm
Supervises: N/A

Start Date: TBD

Rate of Pay: $19-21.14/hour

Close Date: 5/31/2023

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

  • Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance
  • Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)
  • Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment)
  • One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment)
  • Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)
  • Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan)

Function: The Intake Coordinator, who under the supervision of the Program Director, will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of the screening, assessment and intake process for potential residents.

Duties and Responsibilities: (List by section/topic as possible)

  • Will work closely with clients seeking entrance into substance abuse and transitional housing program to determine need and eligibility.
  • Responsible for daily intake data entry of client information into Wellsky data base and HMIS.
  • Responsible for client screening/assessment, intake and orientation of new clients into the Harbor Light program.
  • Maintains communication with Case Managers, Probation Officers, and perspective clients in the community.
  • Works closely with the Case Managers from the Veterans Affairs Dept to manage logistics for incoming Veteran clients.
  • Manages a list of perspective clients and makes referrals to other resources as necessary.
  • Under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for developing a system for screening, enrolling and tracking all funds throughout the clients stay in the program.
  • Will work closely with funding agencies to meet intake, assessment and reporting requirements. Follow up and resolve any issues regarding client enrollment.
  • Will handle all paperwork associated with Program Fees & Food Stamp programs to make certain contract guidelines are being followed.
  • Prepare reporting information for contracts for Dept of Human Services Food stamps.
  • Attend and participate in assigned staff meetings and work as a team with other staff.
  • The individual must show respect for other employees, associates, clients, and the goals and objectives of The Salvation Army.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and Program Administrator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification and Education Requirements:

Qualifications: Education and Work Experience

High school diploma or GED with some College required.

Education and/or work experience commensurate with the duties and responsibilities required including understanding alcohol and/or substance abuse. CACI preferred. Education and/or work experience in human services helpful. Valid Driver License required. The individual must have ability to speak, read and write the English language with a professional level skill is required. Strong data entry and organizational skills. Familiarity with HMIS a plus.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Familiar with government and agency grants, able to read and interpret the needs of funding agencies.
  • Ability to work with funding agencies for enrollment of clients into programs including, but not limited to food stamps (SNAP).
  • Preferred experience in client record management in a clinical or medical setting
  • Ability to administer and read both UA and BA tests to a male population.
  • Ability to work with clients who may suffer from active addictions and/or mental health issues.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to communicate professionally and accurately both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with people from varying backgrounds.
  • Perform work in an environment with demanding timelines, shifting priorities and constant interruptions.
  • Work with individuals of addiction as well as a myriad of other issues related to homeless populations.
