As a built-to-order salad kitchen with more than 50 fresh toppings, five salad bases, a dozen house-made, gluten-free dressings, our guests can fully customize their salads and wraps exactly how they want with no restrictions. Since our humble beginnings in 2005, our people have been the key ingredient that has driven us forward from one restaurant in the downtown Houston tunnels, to more than 90 corporate-owned and franchise locations across Texas, Georgia, Southern California, and Louisiana. About the Role 

We are looking for a strategic and results driven Director of Marketing to join our team and promote Salata’s brand and quality products. The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy to drive growth, enhance brand awareness, and achieve business objectives to include identify target markets, drive market analysis to identify trends and opportunities. Our ideal candidate can leverage their technical and creative skills to effectively promote Salata to new and established customers. ?

Requirements

 Director of Marketing Core Responsibilities 

Typical activities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Develop a strategic plan that identifies the company’s approach to achieving and executing growth, profitability goals and other organizational goals
  • Leads and develops the Marketing strategy to drive sales and traffic and to increase brand loyalty
  • Oversees the implementation of brand communication plans across multi-media (CRM, Digital)
  • Guides the day-to-day activities of the Marketing team and ensures flawless execution Identifies areas of opportunity for the brand through innovation by leveraging emerging trends, market evaluation and guest insights
  • Commission work with both Consumer Insights and Business Analytics to better understand the behavior and the needs of our guests, uncovering the insights that will drive traffic
  • Provide a leadership role in the selection, development, and retention of team members
  • Approves all loyalty updates and campaigns, mobile app enhancements and coordinates with IT very closely on all initiatives
  • Works directly with company Founder and President on market visit, highlighting our commitment to our local communities and demonstrating our give-back philosophies
  • Uphold and managed the marketing section of the FDD to maintain brand standards and relationships within the franchise community
  • Collaborates with Operations on how to properly roll-out company-wide marketing and provide insight into market-wide and restaurant-level marketing activity and sales
  • Coordinates with Accounting on ROI analysis of system wide opportunities and communicates results to pertinent stakeholders
  • Collaborates with legal and other departments on data privacy updates including CCPA and general PII uses for marketing
  • Travel to restaurants to visit with Operators face-to-face to review marketing performance, marketing strategy and discuss recent and upcoming marketing initiatives; provide guidance and feedback as needed 
  • Further provides feedback on media campaigns and coordinates with accounting team on post-buy analysis to determine success
  • Partners with Operations to provide insight into market-wide and restaurant-level marketing activity and sales
  • Manages a 2% contribution system advertising fund for the franchise system by implementing all marketing and sales strategies including digital, print, radio, outdoor, SEM, promotions, sponsorships, and grass root efforts for a multi-unit restaurant brand and coordinates with the accounting team on post-buy analysis to determine the success
  • Executes annual strategic and tactical plans in support of catering, gift cards, dayparts, and holiday in partnership with project leads
  • Works with cross-functional teams to: Launch and maintain test and initiative rollouts and develop best practices, ensure integration between departments and agencies so that all are involved and aligned
  • Manages relationships with agency of record

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills 
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity 
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools 
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or related field 
  • Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy 
  • Proven success in designing interactive applications and networking platforms 
  • Willingness to travel 
  • Established contacts in media 

Physical Demands 

  • Function in a fast-paced, restaurant, office environment 
  • Sit for an extended period of time 
  • Hand/Finger dexterity 
  • Occasionally lift 50 lbs. or more 

Supervisory Responsibility 

The Director of Marketing position has supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time exempt position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. This position may require you to work additional hours and weekends based on business needs. 

Work Environment 

This job operates out of the Home Office in Houston and remotely from a home office.

Travel: 50% 

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected on a project-by-project basis.
