Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties:
- Prepare sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri according to recipes and customer preferences
- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order delivery
- Monitor food stock and place orders when necessary
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations
Skills:
- Proficient in food handling techniques, especially in sushi preparation
- Experience in a culinary role, preferably with a focus on Japanese cuisine
- Strong knife skills for precise cutting and presentation
- Ability to cook rice and prepare sushi vinegar
- Familiarity with menu planning and creating new sushi dishes
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with the kitchen team
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a related kitchen position is a plus
- Knowledge of Japanese culinary traditions and ingredients
