The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key business partner responsible for supporting the Sagent management team, communicating key results, short & long-term financial planning, anticipating business issues, and driving good decision-making through sound financial management. This position requires a strong analytical background with the ability to support monthly close activities and leverage financial system tools. Candidate should be a selfstarter, able to demonstrate sound judgment and resourcefulness in decisionmaking and problem solving. The successful candidate must also be able to think and work independently while also being a team player. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience as outlined below.

Success Indicators:

  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to review and analyze financial statements with a solid understanding or financial concepts and applications
  • Proficiency in MS Office – expertise in Excel, Access, financial modeling and scenario/sensitivity analysis
  • Excellent ability to work with other members of Finance globally as well as other functions throughout the organization 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Ability to define, implement, and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with the ability to think independently
  • Experience working with JDE or a similar ERP system a plus but not required
  • Knowledge of reporting/consolidation tool a plus (Onestream, ODS/Tableau) but not required

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support the FP&A Manager in the financial planning process, including annual operating plan, strategic and operational planning, forecasting, strategic projects, monthly/quarterly/annual results 
  • Lead role in consolidating daily results and communicating sales/margin updates to senior leadership in support of achieving strategic goals.
  • Review and research reporting accuracy, preform in-depth root cause analysis as needed.
  • Provide accounting support for month end close processes, such as reconciliation of cash, inventory and annual cycle count audits.
  • Perform in-depth financial, variance, and trending analysis for key profitability drivers and metrics. Interpret results and articulate actionable recommendations to maximize profitability and ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Provide visibility to the financial impact of opportunities and risks arising during the quarter and ensure they are incorporated into FP&A’s Quarterly forecast.
  • Support the creation of monthly and quarterly presentations focused on the internal operations of Sagent
  • Provide key financial support for business initiatives and system implementations as needed. Actively bridge our current financial system processes/knowledge, within a cross functional team, in support of successful system/process development and associated capital investments.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment across Corporate Finance

Minimum Qualifications / Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • 4 to 6 years of related experience, preferably in a global complex organization
