HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: HR Director
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting various HR functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices, coupled with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and effectively engage with employees.
Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict resolution.
    • Implement and uphold HR policies, ensuring fair and consistent application across the organization.
    • Conduct investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions, when necessary.
  • Training and Development:
    • Identify opportunities for employee development and growth, assisting in the implementation of training programs.
  • HR Administration:
    • Maintain accurate employee records, including HRIS data entry and documentation.
    • Generate reports and analyze HR metrics to inform decision-making and strategy.
    • Oversee benefits administration for all new hires and current employees
      • Medical, Dental, Vision, and all LOA claims
    • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records
  • Compliance and Policy Adherence:
    • Stay updated on labor laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Collaborate on initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
    • Organize and support employee events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Recruiting and Onboarding:
    • Assist the Talent Acquisition group when needed on the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer negotiations.
    • Facilitate new employee onboarding, conduct orientations, and ensure a smooth integration into the organization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience (preferred but not required) as an HR Generalist, Specialist, Business Partner, or in a similar HR role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions, practices, and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to travel. Ryan Fireprotection operates in four states, with nine different office locations. The HR Generalist travel will be minimal, but limited site visits are expected.
