Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of seasonal menus, ensuring a balance of creativity, quality, and profitability.
  • Cost Management: Oversee kitchen operations to maintain food costs within budgetary guidelines while upholding high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Inventory Control: Implement effective inventory management systems to optimize food purchasing, minimize waste, and ensure freshness of ingredients.
  • Staff Management: Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and culinary excellence.
  • Scheduling: Develop and manage kitchen schedules to ensure adequate coverage while optimizing labor costs.
  • Event Facilitation: Coordinate and execute culinary aspects of special events, parties, and catering functions, delivering memorable dining experiences for guests. Regular restaurant service occurs at two locations, with frequent small events, and larger scale off-site events throughout the year.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Management and efficiency is the HIGHEST concern in all areas, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar leadership role in a high-volume culinary establishment.
  • Strong culinary skills and creative flair, with a passion for innovation and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in cost control, menu development, and kitchen management principles.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of local food trends, seasonal ingredients, and culinary techniques.
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training preferred.
