We are looking for a Staff Accountant to manage general accounting and financial processes of our company. This person will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing monthly general entries, monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, filing monthly sales tax returns and general monthly analysis of all expenses. They will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. They will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients and vendors via email and assisting Operations personnel with direct costs analysis). Utilizes specialized software such as QuickBooks and Dynamics 365 Business Central to perform accounting functions, detail account analysis and financial reporting.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

• Reconciles sub-ledgers to the general ledger
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and maintains supporting detail worksheets
• Maintain and update accounting records and files
• Reconciles purchase orders to invoices and receipts
• Prepares standard miscellaneous, journal entries
• Initiates and/or approves fiscal transactions in the automated accounting system
• Conduct month-end and year-end closures
• Prepare documents for audits
• Manages departmental invoice payments which include monitoring and taking corrective action for financial transactions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, customer accounts, etc.
• Reviews and analyzes monthly fiscal transactions; identifies issues; recommends corrective action
• Prepares various fiscal reports i.e., payroll, expenditure detail, customer account analysis, and aging reports
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
• Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
• Report to the Controller and work to improve financial processes
• Perform all additional duties as required
