Rowan Salisbury School System is Hiring a DIRECTOR OF TALENT ACQUISITION Near Salisbury, NC

Director of Talent Acquisition

Reports to: Executive Director of Human Resources

Purpose: Leads RSS’s talent acquisition function and staff to recruit top talent in support of the district’s strategic initiatives focused on talent.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the talent acquisition process for positions at all levels within the district.
  • Creates and implements initiatives and sourcing strategies to attract and retain engaged and effective staff. Targets both passive and active job seekers.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with school-based and department-level functional leaders to understand and support their staffing needs and objectives.
  • Partners with others in the district to attract, retain and promote a diverse work force.
  • Manages, coaches and develops staffing and administrative support staff to provide the highest level of staffing expertise.
  • Establishes priorities, goals and action plans for talent acquisition staff.
  • Recommends and seeks support for new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement of staffing function.
  • Partners with other HR leaders to establish and maintain relationships with local colleges and universities in order to develop and/or recruit talent for the organization.
  • Ensures that staffing team is well preparing new employees, and those transitioning internally, for new roles. Manages a portion of the district’s onboarding/orientation process.
  • Maintains and analyzes recruitment statistics to measure timeliness of the recruitment, selection and onboarding processes, as well as retention metrics.
  • Ensures compliance with Board policy, as well as appropriate federal and state policy and regulations.
  • Manages relationships with staffing partners and recruiting firms, as needed, to support the talent acquisition efforts of the district.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience leading the talent acquisition/recruitment function for a progressive organization.
  • 5 years talent acquisition/recruitment experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing others.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience working with a comprehensive applicant tracking system strongly preferred. 
  • HR certification a plus
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel within district up to 30% of time.
  • Ability to travel out of district up to 10% of time.

Term of Employment: 12 months in accordance with the Rowan-Salisbury School Board calendar

Salary Grade: Director II Salary Scale
