Job Summary

This person is responsible for the smooth running of the school program. This person is responsible for human resources, financial management, overseeing case management, and educational planning. This person provides leadership, assistance, supervision, training, and support to paraprofessionals. This person problem-solves student and staffing issues. It is expected that this person is familiar with governing rules and regulations for the school and that the school maintains compliance with these rules and regulations.

Qualifications


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the mission, values, policies, and procedures of Roundup Fellowship.
  • Ensure the school and day treatment program is in compliance with all rules and regulations including health department, fire department, social services, and the Department of Education.
  • Oversee human resources including supervision, scheduling, hiring, training, performance reviews, and personnel files.
  • Oversee case management for all students ensuring timely reports and documentation of treatment goals.
  • Identify program and individual staff needs and develop a plan for addressing these needs.
  • Ensure accountability of all program money including student funds and staffing allocations.
  • Maintain frequent and professional communication with supervisors, family members, home programs, therapists, staff members, and other professionals or significant others.
  • Complete appropriate documentation including log notes, communication notes, supervision notes, incident reports, and IEP treatment goals.
  • Handle emergency situations effectively while following established procedures.
  • Provide direction, support, and role modeling to staff supervised.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum age of 25.
  • Bachelors Degree with a temporary teaching endorsement in Special Education OR a Masters Degree in Special Education with endorsements in severe cognitive, moderate needs, and severe affective.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language for required paperwork, testing, and professional communication.
  • Ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft Office.
  • Colorado Driver’s license and the ability to drive a 10 passenger vehicle.
  • Satisfactory Central Registry and CBI record check.
  • Ability to do simple math calculations and analyze data.
  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Requires flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work as a team leader.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with respect and tact. Able to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate plans, and prepare materials.
  • Ability to supervise and effectively manage up to 20 employees.
  • Ability to case manage all students ensuring treatment plan compliance.
  • Ability to organize and time manage all required tasks.

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Requires sufficient range of physical strength, endurance, and mobility to assist in student activities and behavioral interventions.
  • Requires adequate range of hearing and vision to properly supervise students.
  • Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.
