RoomOne Solutions is Hiring a VP of Enterprise Sales and Marketing Near Knoxville, TN

RoomOne Solutions is a unique nationwide provider bridging the gap between product and service in the Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner (PTAC) market. We are a solutions provider at scale offering 1) sale of new and refurbished PTACs, 2) installation of PTACs, and 3) removal and recycling of used PTAC units. We serve a growing pool of valued customers, ranging from large brands to independent small-business owners, across the hospitality, managed care, and residential apartment markets. We handle the removal and recycling of used PTACs for thousands of owned properties across the US, processing tens of thousands of units annually. Our facility in Knoxville, TN is EPA certified and keeps hundreds of tons of waste out of landfills each year.

RoomOne Solutions is looking for a VP of Enterprise Sales and Marketing to lead its sales, marketing, and vendor management functions. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President, Enterprise Sales & Marketing will drive the sales team’s commercialization strategy. We are looking for an individual experienced in setting up and maintaining a robust sales organization, ready to accelerate the revenue growth of a high potential company. This commercial leader will be responsible for end-to-end sales, lead generation and management, marketing initiatives, customer service call center operations, and vendor negotiations / relationship management. As a member of the RoomOne executive team, the VP of Enterprise Sales and Marketing will be a key voice in senior leadership meetings, offering ideas, insights and recommendations on company policies, processes, customer service, new business opportunities, and other topics that improve company results. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Create comprehensive sales strategies, focused on earning new business at the rate necessary to meet aggressive short-term and long-term growth goals. 
  • Build, develop, and manage a high-performing sales organization that consistently achieves ambitious targets. Rigorously measure team’s performance and adjust where necessary.
  • Continually build, improve, and optimize systems, processes, tools, teams, and activities that profitably and sustainably grow RoomOne’s revenue, earnings, customers, and value.
  • Help define and drive RoomOne’s overall business vision and strategy, and execute in collaboration with other key executives and departments. 
  • Implement and manage sales forecasting processes that provide accurate predictions into future revenue performance. Ensure forecasting efforts are appropriately integrated with other planning processes within the company. 
  • Oversee and direct market research, competitor analyses, and customer service and retention monitoring processes and initiatives. Ensure customers hear a unified and singular message about the company’s products, service, and quality. Identify and develop new product and sales channel opportunities. 
  • Manage OEM supplier relationships, negotiating standard terms, product costing, and other vendor economics, all the while opportunistically pursuing strategic initiatives with OEM vendor base. 
  • Drive execution and operational excellence. Translate strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results. 

To be clear, this is a player-coach role. Your high level of enthusiasm for developing and managing members of the sales team must be matched by your enthusiasm for independently prospecting and closing deals. Additionally, this role includes a high degree of autonomy and self-direction. You will be expected to apply initiative and high judgment to make sure the “right stuff gets done” to hit sales team and company objectives. Minimum Requirements 

  • BS in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration or related field experience. 
  • 6 years in sales, channel management, account management, or related role. Possess a deep understanding of sales principles and practices. 
  • Strong experience and technical skills with sales and marketing strategy development and execution, business and market development, market research and planning, and promotions/advertising. 
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading complex sales negotiations, enabled by well-developed strategies and adroit problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong people management experience and skills in effectively leading high-performing sales teams. Demonstrated record of leading employees through effective hiring, training, mentoring, and coaching. 
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to perform under pressure in an efficient and economical manner. 
  • Strong experience with CRM tools and applications. 
  • Direct experience with supplier management and procurement/sourcing. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Preferred Requirements 

  • Master of Business Administration degree. 
  • Experience in the commercial heating and cooling industry. 
  • Experience directly managing customer service call centers. 
  • Ecommerce experience. 
  • Experience in a small business, privately owned business, or Private Equity (PE) environment is advantageous.
